“The goal was to win the stage again – maybe with, me maybe with Andrea, it does not matter, if the victory is inside the team. Therefore I stayed in the breakaway during the whole day and I think it was a perfect tactic. In the final Andrea wins and I’m very happy!” – Laurens De Vreese after finishing stage 7 of Tour de Langkawi.
Belgium of Kazakh team spent his day riding more than 180 km in front of the main group. He went to his first breakaway with less than 20 k after the start and was caught by the group with only 3 km to go.
“I’m very proud to ride for the team, every time I’m trying to do all the maximum what I can. I think this stage (more than 200 k to go) was also a good training for me before the upcoming classic races at Belgium” – added De Vreese.
The longest stage of 2016 edition of Tour de Langkawi was finished with mass sprint, won by Andrea Guadini, who took his 21st victory at Malaysian race.
Before the last stage of the race Guardini still leads the points classification and his teammate Miguel Angel Lopez still third in GC of the race.
